Dispersion is published to accompany an exhibition of the same name at the ICA.
The show looks at artists who deconstruct and re-mix found images, investing them with personal narratives and using them to explore the contemporary landscape of information and image distribution. This book begins with an introduction by Polly Staple; continues with texts on the exhibiting artists, including texts by the artists or chosen by them; and concludes with a section of contextual material that is more strictly thematic in nature, including texts that address network culture, the philosophy of gesture, and the relation between sexuality and sight.
