Dodgy acetate

Date: 7 February 2007

"I should fact check information before including hype and drama in my blog"

A confession. My Velvet Underground tale of a few blogs ago has taken another turn. My previous end note of elevation, as the original Andy Warhol acetate, bought for 75 cents, sold for a whopping $150,000, on Ebay, was a little hasty. In fact, although there were over 10 bidders, each offering up over that figure for the luxury of owning the grimy ring of acetate thought to have been touted by Warhol to Columbia records in the early 60s, they all turned out to be suspiciously unavailable when the golden baton was handed down the ranks, and in fact, the final price stumped up, was a still-not-so measley $25,000. The moral of the story? Ebay has a tendency for hype and drama. Or, more specifically, I should fact check such information before including hype and drama in my blog for crowd-pleasing effect.
