Duncan Campbell presents Sigmar, a new film which employs a series of spatial clues and anthropomorphic images in the form of rudimentary drawings, animations and photographs. Campbell’s films often employ archival footage to piece together dense historical narratives, and can appear polemical in their choice of subject. However, they are also characterised by semi-abstract visual and oral additions, and by a strand of Beckettian reduction and repetition – creating a cycle of uncertainty and frustration.
