Hannah Starkey is one of the most influential photographic artists working today. Her early photographs were staged scenarios based on the experiences of young women living in the city. More recently her close observation of the urban landscape has resulted in images which capture the banality and dehumanising effects of our constructed environments. Her works have been exhibited widely, including at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museumof Photography, the Irish Museum of Modern Art and the Saatchi Gallery.
Starkey will be in conversation with Dr. Lucy Soutter, Senior Lecturer in Photography at The London College of Communication, and an artist, art historian and critic. Soutter writes for publications including Afterimage, Portfolio and Source and her artist's books are in the collections of MoMA in New York, and The National Art Library in London.
